Configuring prizes and cash alternatives
Basecomp supports multiple prizes per raffle — a main prize, optional runner-up prizes, and instant win prizes. Each has its own configuration.
Main prize
The main prize is awarded to the winner of the final draw. Configure:
- Name — e.g. "BMW 3 Series 2024"
- Retail value — Used to calculate the cash alternative and for display purposes
- Cash alternative — Enable this to let the winner choose cash instead. Basecomp automatically suggests retail value minus 20% (to account for VAT on the retail price), but you can set any amount
- Images — Add multiple photos. The first image is the thumbnail; others appear in a gallery on the raffle page
Runner-up prizes
Add as many runner-up prizes as you like. These are drawn after the main prize winner is selected. Runner-up prizes have the same configuration options as the main prize.
Instant win prizes
Instant win prizes are revealed immediately when a specific ticket is purchased. Customers see a celebration screen showing what they have won. Configure the quantity (how many instant wins exist in the raffle) and the prize details. Positions are selected cryptographically — see the Transparency section for details.
Prize delivery
Prize delivery and fulfilment are handled outside of Basecomp. When a winner is selected, you receive their contact details via email and within the Winners section of your dashboard.
