Connecting a custom domain

By default your store runs on your-name.basecomp.io. You can replace this with your own domain (e.g. www.winbig.co.uk) for a fully white-label experience.

Step 1 — Add your domain

Go to Settings → Domains → Add Domain and enter your domain name. Basecomp will show you a CNAME record to add to your DNS settings.

Step 2 — Update your DNS

Log into your domain registrar (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare) and add the CNAME record provided. DNS propagation typically takes 15 minutes to 2 hours, but can occasionally take up to 24 hours.

Step 3 — SSL certificate

Basecomp automatically provisions a free SSL certificate for your custom domain using Let's Encrypt. This happens once DNS propagation is confirmed. Your store will be available over HTTPS automatically — no manual configuration required.

Step 4 — Set as primary

Once verified, click Set as Primary to make your custom domain the default URL for all storefront links and customer emails.

Troubleshooting

If your domain is not verifying after 2 hours, double-check the CNAME record in your DNS settings. Ensure there is no conflicting A record for the same subdomain.
